Joining Fee Waiver Eligibility
The joining fee may be waived under the following conditions:
First Two Families: Applies to the first two families who sign their contracts with tiney.
Sibling Contracts: The joining fee is paid once across siblings, regardless of whether they join at the same time or separately.
Wraparound Care-Only Contracts: This applies to contracts exclusively for care before and/or after school for school-age children.
Contracts Using Local Authority Funding: Fully funded contracts for eligible 2-year-olds receiving additional support (such as the 15 free hours for eligible 2-year-olds; this does not include funding for working families). - Contracts funded by local authorities where no additional private fees (e.g., consumable fees or extra hours) have been applied to the guardian.
Emergency Care Contracts: Temporary contracts designed to cover emergency care situations.
Short-Term Contracts: Applies to contracts lasting less than 60 days.
Situations Where the Joining Fee is Not Automatically Waived
Certain contracts are not automatically exempt from the joining fee unless they meet one of the conditions listed above. These include:
Working Parents Funding: If the contract uses funding for working parents (households earning above minimum wage but under £100,000), the fee is not waived unless another waiver condition applies.
Local Authority Funded Contracts with Additional Fees: For local authority-funded contracts, if consumable fees or extra hours beyond funded allowances are added, the joining fee will only be waived if another condition applies.
Notes and Exceptions
The joining fee for the first two families is automatically waived, regardless of whether there are additional exemptions applicable to them.
Fee waivers based on sibling contracts apply universally and only charge the joining fee once for all siblings.
The joining fee can also be waived in cases of financial hardship, please reach out to the payments team to discuss this
