Tiney was founded by Brett Wigdortz who ran the education charity Teach First for 15 years, focused on addressing educational disadvantage. Brett was concerned about the shortage in high quality early years education and care, especially in low income areas and that the number of childminders had dropped by 75% over the past 20 years.

At tiney our mission is to enable affordable childcare for parents, high quality early education for children and amazing careers for childminders. We've brought on board over 1,000 childminders completely new to the profession and are working to use tech and in person support to ensure they can run high quality early years businesses as easy as possible.

Over the coming years we hope to help to continue to turn around the decline in childminders in England and ensure sufficient high quality early years capacity all over the country
