How to edit draft invoices in your app

As of December 2024, you will be able to make amendments to most types of invoices in the tiney app.

This includes the ability to:

  • add or remove session(s) of care

  • change the rate type for a session of care

  • change the start or end time for a session of care

  • add or remove any additional fees to sessions

  • amend the due date

Select a draft invoice to edit

Open your Wallet, then click into the 'Invoices' tab. Draft invoices have the 'Review' button next to them, which means they have not yet been sent to the guardian. At the bottom of the invoice, click 'Edit invoice' to change the 'Amount' or 'Due Date'.

Not all invoice types will be editable in this first version (see the list of exclusions below). If the invoice is not editable, you can click 'Request changes' to contact the tiney team as normal.

Edit the amount

A calendar view covering the period of the invoice will be shown - you can make amendments to care within this period only. For example, for a child attending only on Fridays, the January invoice would start on 03/01/2024. To add care before this, you'll need to get in touch as the invoice period begins on the 3rd.

Days marked in white have care scheduled and/or fees charged. You can click on a date to view more details.

Here, you can amend the times, rates, and fees charged on a session. You can also delete care booked on sessions as needed.

The days in grey don't have any care scheduled - you can add a new session as needed. Select the start and end times of the session, and choose the rate to charge and any fees to add.

If you delete all scheduled sessions and their costs in an invoice, the invoice will be voided.

Edit the due date

This is the date the invoice will be due for payment to you by the guardian. For standard invoices, these will be due on the last day of the month - you can now select a new date for this.

This is the first version of this tool - we will be working on adding more flexibility in future versions. For now, there are some things you can't do:

  • amend an invoice that has already been opened (ie sent to the guardian)

  • make a permanent schedule change - this tool is for one-off or ad-hoc changes only

  • apply a credit (a negative amount), e.g. for a closure for care that has already been paid

  • add care that is not within the care dates shown in the calendar

  • amend an invoice that has been manually created or already edited by one of our team - you can request further changes as needed

  • amend an invoice that covers multiple children

  • amend an invoice for a flexible or ad hoc contract

  • amend care that falls on a bank holiday

  • amend a Student Finance invoice

  • change the payment type on an invoice

  • add a new fee type, or a fee that doesn't relate to a specific session, e.g. a monthly or termly fee
