tiney is now available on desktop. This article explains what it is, how to log in, and what to expect during the beta.

tiney is now on desktop

You can now use tiney on your computer at app.tiney.co. It's the same tiney you know, with the same account and login details you already use, just on a bigger screen.

app.tiney.co sits alongside your mobile app as another way to run your setting. Everything you can do on the tiney mobile app, you can now do on the web. It's still in beta, which means we're still testing and refining bits as we go, but all the main features you need from tiney are live.

How to log in

Head to app.tiney.co and log in with the same email address and password you use for the tiney app. No new account needed.

What can I do on app.tiney.co?

Everything you can do on your mobile app. That includes:

  • Viewing your childcare register and checking children in and out

  • Writing journal entries, including group entries, mixed photo and video uploads, and minute-by-minute sleep logs, with an AI helper to polish your writing

  • Creating and managing contracts

  • Managing your care schedules from the Calendar

  • Sending and receiving messages with parents

  • Receiving enquiries

  • Working through your CPD, courses, and webinars, and downloading resources

  • Managing your money in the tiney Wallet, including invoices, expenses (with an AI expenses scanner), withdrawals, and tax records

  • Editing and previewing your tiney profile

Plus, there are a few extras which will make their way over to the mobile app in the coming weeks. These include:

  • Building and editing your policies with Policy Builder. Read more here.

  • Uploading mixed media (photos and video) to the same Journal entry

  • Adding minute-by-minute entries to the sleep log in Journal

Is my data the same?

Yes. The web and mobile versions of tiney use the same account, so everything stays in sync. Whatever you do on one appears on the other, so you can move between your phone and your laptop whenever suits you.

Why has tiney built a desktop version?

A few reasons. Lots of you have told us over the years that you'd like to use tiney on a bigger screen, and we've listened. Things like writing longer journal observations, uploading policies, or managing your finances can just be easier with a keyboard and a larger display. tiney being available on both mobile app and desktop means you now have the choice between tapping, or typing!

But there's a bigger picture too. This desktop version is built on a completely new technical foundation, and that same foundation will power an upgraded version of the tiney mobile app over the next couple of months. That means a more stable app, fewer bugs, faster improvements, and also a tablet version too. The desktop web version is the first thing you'll see from this upgrade, but it's the start of something much bigger for the whole tiney platform.

Who can access it?

Right now, app.tiney.co is open to registered childminders, their assistants, and trainees. We'll be opening it up to guardians soon, and we'll let you know when that happens.

I've spotted something that doesn't look right

Because this is a beta, you might occasionally come across something that looks off or doesn't behave as expected. If you do, please use your main tiney app until we formally launch app.tiney.co and take it out of beta.
